Filling

In underground works, this refers to the material arranged in the gap between the covering's backfill and the rock's surface, avoiding specific loads and distributing the stresses on the support. In extraction activities, these are also called gobs which are the mullock tailings and by-product remains of this activity that can be left there or used for filling the operational gaps, preventing its walls from collapsing.
