Rotation or rotary-percussion deep drilling requires a transmission element that in deep holes prevents it from being a one piece drill becoming a sectioned one instead. These sections connect or are screwed on as the drilling moves deeper to overcome the distance between the probe or rock drill on the surface with the cutting or ripping tool below (transmitting the thrust and the rotary and/or percussion movement to this).
