Piles are slender elements for transmitting deep foundation's depth charges into various materials (wood, metal or concrete) and shapes (circular, squared, etc.). There are two types depending on their on-site delivery, excavated or bored and driven that are also called displacement piles, whose main characteristic is that the pile is introduced into the ground by means of percussion or vibration without prior excavations, easing its housing, although cases exist where the drive is eased with boreholes that are narrower than the pile's or with the help of nozzles.
