Track spacing

This is the distance measured in a normal tread to the axis between the axes of two adjacent tracks on a double track line, or between the axes of various tracks on one line or section of a multiple track (e.g. the minimum track spacing width for a 54 kg rail is 3,808 mm on a conventional line, and 4,300 mm on a high-speed line). The track spacing at a bend also has a wide gauge (approximately 3%).
