This is a wearing course made from a limited thickness bituminous mixture.
When the thin layer is made from a hot discontinuous bituminous mixture, it is treated as a ?mixture whose materials are the combination of a hydrocarbon binder, discontinuous granulometric aggregates that are very accentuated in sand, mineral powder and eventually additives, so that all the aggregate particles are covered by a homogenous film of binder. Its production procedure forces the heating of the binder and aggregates (except, eventually adding mineral powder), and when it is laid, it should be heated to a temperature of more than one hundred degrees Celsius (100ºC)'.
