Silane is a monomer (a small molecule that can chemically react to join with other molecules of the same type, making a large molecule called a polymer) that dilutes in organic solvents. Chemically, silane is Silicon tetrahydride: ?H4Si'. Amongst its uses are waterproofing and protecting cement and masonry structures against humidity.
