Shrinkage

Shortening that is suffered by concrete or other material as a consequence of the chemical reactions produced during setting and hardening. This is mainly influenced by the cement's type and quantity as well as by the atmospheric temperature, by the degree of atmospheric humidity, by the amount of time that has passed since cementing, by the geometrical characteristics of the concreted volume and by the existence and type of additives present.
