Service carriageways

Service carriageways are roads available on one or more sides of the main road and are parallel to it and separated from it. They guarantee the complete control of accesses to motorways isolating their surrounding main roads. They are designed with direct access to all adjacent properties and secondary roads. They are usually one-way. They frequently have parking areas in built up areas. The separation between the main and the service carriageway has the same characteristics as a central reserve and receives a similar treatment.
