Roadside facilities

On roads: a surface appropriately surfaced, near to a road but separated from it, that has an entrance and exit allowing certain specific necessities to be satisfied. Examples of service areas would be: customs, offices and lorry parking and assistance areas. In other activities such as ports and airports, service facilities would be those areas that have infrastructures, installations, buildings and services destined to the attention and technical management of the port or airport.
