A section that divides a carriageway into two, normally of the same size, without prioritising between them.
They are built due to the coincidence of similar traffic flows and the speeds specific to the type of traffic that travels on them should be similar.
The number of lanes on the common carriageway before the junction should not differ by more than one to the total number of lanes after the junction. Exceptionally, in certain sufficiently justified cases and prior express authorisation, the difference in the previous lane tally could be a maximum of two.
