This is gas welding by means of the combustion of a gas or gas mixture. A blowtube is employed to apply the heat to surfaces of the pieces and to the filler rod, joining the two pieces or separating them, as appropriate. This system has the advantage of being mobile, since mains electricity is not required. The gas mixture used in this type of welding is oxygen/acetylene.
