A structural surface element composed of different elements and materials, which together form a flat surface for formation of floors and roof plans. It is used to receive and support loads, transmitting them to beams or load-bearing walls. In accordance with the resistance of the elements used in its construction it may be classed as: - Resistant. - Semi-resistant. - Non-resistant. In accordance with how it transmits loads: - One-way (either with beam fill or otherwise). - Two-way.
