Post-stressing of the reinforcement

The action of subjecting the reinforcement to a post-concreting tightening or traction force. Said reinforcement will be highly-resistant steel, made up of cables, cordons or bars and normally hosted by conduits to the casing. Depending on the adhesion conditions between the concrete mass and the reinforcement, they can be: - Adhesive: injecting a material into the casing that provides suitable adhesion between the reinforcement and the concrete of the element. - Non- adhesive: when employed as reinforcement protection systems; injections that do not cause adhesion between the reinforcement and the concrete of the element.
