Parging

The action of using cement mortar, lime mortar or mixed lime and cement mortar to parget with a continuous finish, using one or more layers of less than1.5 mm thickness. This allows for evening the base and serves as the underlay for a later finish. The operation should be performed on a dry surface, free of wetness marks; three techniques are available: - Prior. - Hand-finished (trowelled): allowing the technician to employ his/her skills to obtain the best finish. - Screeded: vertical bandages are placed every two metres on the surface, facilitating a continuous, perfect planimetry.
