Gypsum is the air conglomerate obtained from the total or partial dehydration of triturated gypsum plaster or stone. It hardens as water lost in baking is re-added, thereby recovering its stony appearance. Crude gypsum is the thick granule containing impurities from baking smoke and ashes. It is designated CG, and is either used as an adhesive paste?when mixed with 50% water?in raised vaults and partitions, or as an ancillary conglomerate on site.
