The purpose of the Work and Social Security Inspection is to observe and control the health and safety at work rules. The following are emphasised amongst it's objectives: advising and informing companies and workers on the most effective way to comply with the laws regarding this matter; informing the occupational authority about fatal, very severe or severe accidents at work; order the immediate suspension of works when the inspector advises the existence of a severe or imminent hazard, etc.
