Health and safety co-ordinator

A competent technician assigned by the developer who belongs to the Construction Management. There are two figures of Health and Safety co-ordinator, which may be undertaken by the same person: 1. Coordinator for the drafting of work: when several designers are involved. 2. Coordinator during the execution of the work: in cases of concurrence at work of more than one company or freelances. Its functions are: - To coordinate the application of general prevention and safety principles when taking technical and organizational decisions and when estimating the duration of the execution of the works. - To approve the mandatory Health and Safety Plan drawn up by the contractor, and the amendments made; - To coordinate the work activities to ensure that the contractor, subcontractors and freelances apply consistently and responsibly the preventive action principles in the execution of works, those with a general character and those specific for a construction site. - To organize the coordination of the companies activities that are performing in the same physical space or workplace. - To coordinate the activities of control over the correct application of the methods of work. - Take the necessary measures to ensure that only authorized people have access to the work. - Stop the work execution when a serious and imminent risk occurs for the health and safety of workers. - Keep the Incidents book.
