Fall arrest belt

According to the UNE-EN 358 Belts for work positioning and restraint and work positioning lanyards, a belt is a body gripping device that surrounds the waist. Its functions are: - Keep the user in a proper position while working with the help of elements that are exerting pressure, or - Connect the user to a connection system that prevents him from reaching places with danger of falling. They consist of a belt and one or more anchoring elements. There are inseparable and separable harness belts. Using belts for work positioning to arrest a fall is very dangerous. The practice is to work wearing a belt together to a harness ("double security") so that the belt is used to position and harness provides a fall arrest system. Only the use without harness is recommended in circumstances where it is impossible to fall.
