Basic Health and Safety Study

The basic study, Article 4 of the RD 1627/1997, specifies the health and safety standards applicable for the work. It therefore considers the identification of the occupational hazards that can be avoided, indicating the technical measures necessary and the relation of hazards that cannot be eliminated, specifying the preventative measures and technical protections that tend to control and reduce them. This study is carried out, if the work is not included in anything captured in Article 4, point 2 of this Royal Decree: • The execution budget is equal or higher than € 450,759. • The estimated duration of the works is longer than 30 working days, employing in a certain moment more than 20 workers simultaneously. • More than 500 workers (estimated). • Works in tunnels, galleries, underground conduits and dams.
