The elevation of the compaction level of a layer of soil or floor requires energy to be applied to it. The types of machinery used to achieve an increase in the compaction level are classified as follows:
- Rollers: vibratory or non-vibratory, and smooth rollers or padfoot.
- Pneumatic.
- Flat or plates.
