Scales used in construction

The relationship between depicted dimensions and real dimensions, that is: S = drawing/reality. If the numerator of this fraction is greater than the denominator, it is an enlargement scale; and in the opposite case it is a reduction. A scale of 1:1 links a drawn object to its real size (life-size). Scale varies depending on what needs to be represented; the most common ones in building projects are between 1/100 and 1/500, and in civil works and planning they are between 1/1000 and 1/5000.
