A level with a precision lens for determining how horizontal a line or a plane is, in which the collimating axis is slightly inclined in relation to the rotation axis. It does not require a very perfect rest area, since although the axis of the instrument is not exactly vertical, the collimation axis in each viewer is perfectly horizontal. This instrument is hardly ever used now.
