Piles are narrow columns to transfer the loads to the depths of deep foundations. There are two types of piling procedures:
- Excavated or perforated: also called in situ piles, since they are driven into reinforced concrete, perforating the ground during its positioning and later placing the framework and concreting.
- Sharp piles: also called displacement piles, which are prefabricated piles whose main feature is their introduction into the ground using hammering or vibration without making previous excavations that make their positioning easier.
