Steel piping is the most resistant type of all used at present. It can support working pressures of 15 kg/cm². Two types are sold: welded fabric piping and non-welded, stretched piping. Welded piping is used for interior networks. Non-welded, stretched piping is employed in buildings where fluid is subjected to very high pressures. It is necessary to use zinc immersion baths to treat the steel piping, on the inside and outside. This process galvanizes it, making it rust-resistant. Its internal walls are unsmooth.
