These are pipes linking drainage systems of domestic appliances, or other apparata requiring drainage, with drainpipes. In their horizontal span, diversions must have minimum and maximum slopes. They may unload directly to the drainpipe, or to a siphonic box connected to the drainpipe. Toilets always discharge directly to drainpipes. The diversion joining the toilet to the drainpipe is called the toilet drain pipe. Diversions which discharge directly to the drainpipe, without passing through a siphonic box, must have individual siphons.
