These are elements formed by U-shaped or lyre-shaped piping, capable of absorbing the increase in length of a pipe on dilation, as if they were a buffer. They are produced on site, with pipe lengths bent from the same galvanised steel that the pipe network is made of. This system is no longer in use because of the time needed to make them.
