Caps

These are used at network ends or as a temporary cap in hydraulic tests and are made with male or female threads. The male threads prior to installation must be enveloped with tow, hemp with red lead paint or special paste to avoid the possibility of leakages between threads. Polytetrafluoroethylene tape, which is more widely-known as teflon tape, can also be employed, especially for small bores.
