Working the lengths

This operation starts by chiselling two notches at the ends of a cutting line previously traced on the working surface, taking special care with the corners. The notches will be the base references for tracing the first length or fastener. The intermediate material will be eliminated with the mason's chisel and point, checking the surface of the fastener with the ruler against the light to mark and chisel the small bulges in between, until a perfect alignment with the two notches is reached.
