Settling masonry stones

This consists in placing the stone securing it in the place where it is to stay. The stones settling surface should be adequately levelled and the over-bed of the stones of the previous row should show a horizontal surface, checking this with the ruler and the bubble level. In stonework, the settling of the stones can be made by the full joint procedure or by the poured joints method. The bare stone, without mortar, is not so frequently used because it requires a good cut.
