Rubber mallets

A tool similar to the everyday or bricklayer's mallet but with a cylindrically shaped face. That is to say that they usually have small round faces (between 20 and 70mm) and their weight can vary between 150 and 2,500gms and are easily replaced. Some of these mallets have metallic bodies or combine wood with plastic, so that false nylon faces can be applied to their body. Apart from nylon the following products are also used: PVC, hardened rubber, compacted skin, etc. They are used for special jobs due to the head being made from a relatively soft material which is capable of tolerating strikes without damaging the material being struck.
