Picks and bush hammers

The bricklayer's and mason's pick, also called ?sledge hammer', or ?sledge' is similar to the normal hammer but with a rectangular pane. Its weight varies between 400 and 900 g. It is also known by the names of ?stone cutter's hammer' or ?stone cutter's mallet' and is a double ended steel tool. The stonemasons use it to pick at the rock for working. The stonemason's pick or ?bush hammer chisel' is a type of chisel with a notched diamond tip. The bricklayer uses it for different activities, to eliminate coverings on old facings, when applying a bush hammered stone gypsum plaster and when applying a hammered stucco effect.
