Picking the rendering

This is one of the types of finish given to cement or lime or synthetic resin mortar rendering. To get this finish, firstly the plastering trowel is passed strongly over the fresh mortar. Then, when it starts to dry, it is washed with a flat brush and water until the wash comes out, leaving the grains of sand on the covering surface. Finally, once the surface is hard, start to pick with a chisel, eliminating the loose sand.
