Metal struck joint pointer

A tool consisting of a section of either prismatic or cylindrical iron which is used to mark or level (fill and smooth) the perpends of factory work facing bricks, giving a more even and better finish than that achieved by using the leaf shaped trowel. The type of joint that we want to achieve will determine the shape of the struck joint pointer that we should select. For the most common perpend, the concave one, bricklayers improvise using a piece of curved metallic tubing with a diameter of a little more than the thickness of the joint.
