Mason's stone chisels

Steel, iron or widia utensils that are polygonal, rectangular or circular and with a flat sharpened double-edged tip. The edge is usually longer than the rest of the tools body section. It is used to dress stone, concrete, etc., by hitting it with a hammer or mallet. The stone mason uses the chisel to prepare the perimeter's fastenings that serve as a levelling guide for the remaining work surface of the dressed stone, to hollow out, pierce, engrave and carve decorations. The surfaces can be smoothed with the chisel after working them with the tooth stone chisel. Mason's stone chisels are also known as cold chisels.
