This is a water paint which has the same binding agent and pigment, calcium hydroxide or slaked lime. It weathers well as it hardens with humidity and with the passing of time. It has good microbicide properties. It has a smooth, matt, porous and absorbent finish. Normally, it is sold in white or in very pale colours. It can be applied to interior or exterior ceramic or cement surfaces, for example in premises that need resistance to humidity or to microbicide effects. To more effectively trap humidity, cooking salt is added to the lime whitewash for the final coat. It is applied with either a brush or a roller.
