The procedure used for the construction of circular plaster models differs depending on the type and size of the piece to be built, distinguishing amongst others, the following methods:
- Casting on a bench with a strickle fixed in the centre of the turn for making circular moulds.
- Casting with a strickle that turns around a raised centre for circular or polygonal decorative elements.
- Casting with a vertical axis for the construction of columns.
- Casting or turning on gypsum plaster core for the construction of column caps.
- Special turn for circular and polygonal pieces like balusters and spheroids, etc.
