Extruded polystyrene or XPS

Rigid foam, insulating, thermoplastic polymer and closed-cell structure, resulting from the extrusion of the polystyrene under the presence of a foaming gas. A light material, easy and comfortable to handle, which is used as for thermal and damp insulation. It has a thermic conductivity between 0.033 W/mK2 and 0.036 W/mK2, low absorption of water (lower than the 0.7% at total immersion) and very high mechanic performance. Due to its mechanic resistance and its waterproofing characteristic, it is used as insulation material on floors, roofing, cold-storage rooms and on facades.
