Rail joints

The continuity of the consecutive bars on the same rail is achieved by welding or connections ensuring the continuous beam working of each rail at ground level or at an elevated level. It should have a similar deformation resistance to that of the rail that it connects, impeding relative movements of the lateral and vertical ends but allowing for expansion. This can be a mechanical connection using flanges which are concordly or alternately arranged between both rails, either supported on the splice bar or suspended between consecutive splice bars.
