Clay

These are sedimentary rocks with an approximate grain size of less than 4 microns. Their main constituents are argillaceous minerals (hydrated aluminium silicates) that have leaf like shapes. Maybe the most noticeable characteristic of clay is its plasticity, the capability of changing shape by force, keeping the new shape acquired once the force has ceased. This plasticity is highlighted when the clay is mixed with water as whilst it is dry is has an earthy look, a rough feel and many cracks, when wet it is slippery and plastic.
