A gutter, along which water flows, that is intermittently found on the road's surface and which, apart from being paved, has the characteristic that it forms part of the same carriageway, as it is slightly inclined, not very deep and has frequent outlets for the water to pass through grilles, drains, etc.
It usually has a trapezoidal or triangular shape, normally a ?V', that allows maximum drainage flow with minimum construction volume.
