Laying tiles

The laying of tiles varies depending on the type of tile used. As a norm, they are placed in horizontal courses on the surface, perpendicular to the ridge, following the pattern of maximum gradient, from bottom to top, in order to guarantee a correct overlap of the top pieces on the ones below. When using curved tiles, the first step is to calculate their distribution. They are fixed with mixed cement mortars. Slate tiles are nailed or attached by hook, and mixed types can be fixed on sleepers or with mortar.
