Crowning and furring of foundations

Once the foundations have been laid out, and emptying has taken place, poor concrete of around 10 cm thickness, known as cleaning concrete, is poured in. This is to prevent the resistance section of the foundations coming into direct contact with the soil. Then, in accordance with the plans, mixed concrete can be directly laid, or the reinforcement can be installed, as appropriate, proceeded by filling up to the crowning and furring level of the foundations.
