Spinning auger

A piece of equipment comprising a solid or hollow steel bar in the shape of a worm gear, with cutting capabilities at one end or at both ends, used for drilling, probing and screen pilots or cementing. These drilling actions are performed as the worm gear turns, when: - It is not necessary to obtain a continuous material core. - The ground is relatively soft and cohesive. - There are no cemented or gravelled layers, or layers of flowing sand, below groundwater level. - It is not necessary to cut through or penetrate rocks. - Great precision is not required.
