It is the action of on-site positioning, using topographic instruments and with a pre-established accuracy, of elements obtained via deskwork with a plan or map. These points are usually marked out on the land with nails, stakes, boards and metal weights. The existing bases in the area are used as a reference. If the work is a large project planning of the lay out works may have to be carried out, setting out a network of intermediate bases.
