This is a valve situated on the bond of the supply, with the general interior plumbing next to the building's entrance or in the low part of the same. It is used to cut off the whole plumbing supply without having to contact the supply company. A chamber or a shaft is normally fitted for possible access and manipulation. The shut-off or supply cock is of the gate type. It basically consists of a disc that vertically cuts through the flow of water, which functions by means of a lever, just as if it were a gate.
