Preparation of walls for reinforcement

Reinforcements should be applied to clean, rough and resistant facings. Before reinforcing a facing its surface should be cleaned, imperfections should be corrected such as protruding mortar joints, and if not using prepared gypsum plaster then its surface must be dampened with abundant water. In case of smooth concrete surfaces, the roughness of the base surface can be reached by chipping, fixing a plastic net to the facing or by splattering cement grout. Steel surfaces are covered before being reinforced with pieces of ceramic or concrete.
